Home Sweet Home
Fayette County, Tennessee
The Fayette County Home Builders and Developers Association (FCBDA) is
just one example of an organization designed to serve the needs of both
the citizens and the community. The FCBDA is a chapter of the
Memphis Area Home Builders Association, the Home Builders Association
of Tennessee and the National Association of Home Builders. All FCBDA homebuilders and associates
must meet certain professional and ethical criteria before being
accepted as a member. These requirements include:
- Builder members must have their Tennessee General Contractors License.
- Builder members must offer a minimum one-year warranty.
- Builder members must abide by the decisions of the Registered Builder committee in response to homeowner complaints.
- All members must adhere to the Memphis Area Home Builders Association Code of Ethics.
- All members must demonstrate financial stability.
Fayette County Education Foundation
The Fayette County Education Foundation is one of the FCBDA’s proudest
contributions to the Fayette County community. In 2002, the FCBDA
and the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce established the Education
Foundation as a means to provide much-needed educational equipment and
supplies to local teachers.
In order to establish the Foundation, FCBDA members constructed a 3,000
square-foot brick home using donated materials and labor.
Proceeds from the sale of the home were then used to start and fund the
Fayette County Education Foundation.
To date, the Fayette County Education Foundation has raised over $200,000 in proceeds.
